The below procedure is way to upgrade and replace flash cards in Cisco Devices. Sometimes we need more and bigger flash space. In this example we will show you upgrading the flash in both slot:0 and slot:1. To avoid having to change the pointers in the configurations we will perform the copying of code in slot1: and then move the newly configured card to slot:0. It makes a lot easier. 1. Put a new card in slot1:
2. Format new card on slot1:
format slot1:
3. To see current filename
dir slot0:
Router#dir slot0: Directory of disk0:/ 1 -rw- 27456324 Sep 8 2006 08:34:20 +00:00 gsr-k4p-mz.120-31.SK3d 2 -rw- 704819 Oct 9 2006 13:12:12 +00:00 Final_config 121083014 bytes total (75647921 bytes free) 4. Copy all the image and file to Slot1: that we just formated
copy slot0:
show slot1:
121083014 bytes total (75647921 bytes free)
